Tips
Always book an explicitly pet-friendly rate (cabins, treetop/lakeside pavilions or 2-bedroom cottage) and confirm dog breed, size and numbers with Mt Cotton Retreat before arrival — boutique hotel rooms, suites and the main lodge are strictly NO pets. Maximum 2 well-behaved toilet-trained pets per pet-friendly cabin or cottage; dogs must NOT go on beds or soft furniture inside the cabin — a $250 cleaning fee will be charged for pet hair, stains or pet damage to bedding and upholstery. Dogs must stay on-leash at all times on shared pathways, lawns, garden areas and bush walking tracks; never remove the leash inside any part of the Boom-Ber-Pee Private Nature Refuge to protect koalas, wallabies, echidnas and 80+ bird species, and always carry poop bags to dispose of in bins. Never leave dogs unattended in the cabin, on the deck or inside a car at any time during your stay — take your dog with you when you leave the retreat or make pet-sitting plans. During summer bring extra water bowls, cooling mats and sun shade for midday heat on decks, and do a quick tick check after bush walks or garden play. Complimentary WiFi is only available at the main lodge 8am–7pm so pre-download any offline maps or trail guides before you arrive. Combine the stay with Sirromet Winery 10 min south or day trips to Brisbane CBD (30 min NW), Victoria Point and Redland Bay coastal walks and cafes 15–20 min east, or the Gold Coast theme parks and coastal walks 30–40 min south.
