Daisy Hill Conservation Park is a dog-friendly eucalypt bushland park on Yugarabul Country at Daisy Hill, Queensland — 25 minutes south-east of the Brisbane CBD and 20 minutes north-west of the Gold Coast hinterland.

The park protects over 380 hectares of open eucalypt forest with wild koalas, wallabies and bush birds, and hosts the purpose-built Daisy Hill Koala Centre education display. It is a popular short day-trip for Brisbane and Logan families looking for gentle bush walks and a picnic lawn stop.

Dogs are welcome on all marked walking trails, picnic areas and day-use lawns outside the Koala Centre precinct. Skip the Koala Centre display entirely if you want to spend the whole visit together with your dog, or plan a quick Centre stop separately.

Leash

On-leash at all times on every marked trail, picnic lawn, carpark and shared park area outside the Koala Centre precinct to protect resident wild koalas, wallabies and native birds.

Outdoor area

Multiple marked bush walking trails (Tallowwood Trail, Stringybark Trail, Blue Gum Trail and Koala Centre circuit), plus grassed picnic lawns, wood BBQs and sheltered tables.

Parking

Free on-site carparks at the Koala Centre (main visitor carpark), Tallowwood Trail trailhead and Stringybark Trail trailhead. Overflow street parking on Mt Cotton Road and nearby side streets on weekends and holidays.

Water

Drinking water taps are available near the Koala Centre picnic lawn and the main day-use toilets. Bring extra water and a travel bowl because the trail-side taps are seasonal.

Toilets

Public toilet blocks with composting toilets are located at the Koala Centre visitor precinct and the Tallowwood picnic area; bring hand sanitiser as soap is not always supplied.

Dog access

The Daisy Hill Koala Centre, its enclosed boardwalks, display yard, cafe counter and the immediate Centre enclosure are strictly NO DOGS at all times. Never leave your dog unattended in a vehicle; only visit the Centre briefly (10-15 min) if the car is parked in full shade with ventilation and plenty of cool water. All trails, picnic lawns and day-use areas outside the Koala Centre precinct are dog-friendly on-leash. Do not let your dog approach or chase wild koalas, wallabies, echidnas or bush birds.

Things to Know Before You Go

The Koala Centre is strictly no dogs, so either skip the Centre entirely or leave your dog in a well-shaded, ventilated vehicle for only a short 10-15 minute visit.
Wild koalas, wallabies and bush birds live throughout the park so never let your dog approach or harass native wildlife, even if the animal seems calm.
Ticks are common in summer and humid months, so do a quick full-body tick check on your dog and yourself after every bush walk.
The main Koala Centre carpark fills by 11am on weekends and school holidays — use the Tallowwood or Stringybark trailhead carparks further inside the park.
